LI-MEI LIANG AND KEN HAMAO IN CONCERT – SUNDAY, MARCH 2, 2025, 3 PM

Join the Friends of the Robbins Library for this concert, the third in the 2025 Reading Room Concert Series, with violinist Li-Mei Liang and violinist/violist Ken Hamao. They will weave exciting works written for both two-violin and violin/viola duets spanning over two centuries. The program will include works by Georg Philipp Telemann, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Reinhold Glière, and Bohuslav Martinů.

This event will take place at the Robbins Library, 700 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 3 pm. Admission is free and open to all.

Praised for her “first rate and thoroughly engaging” playing, Taiwanese violinist Dr. Li-Mei Liang’s performance has been described as a “powerhouse” by the Boston Musical Intelligencer. An active soloist and chamber musician, Li-Mei has performed across the United States, Belgium, China, Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Taiwan, appearing in renowned concert venues. She has performed with the East Coast Chamber Orchestra, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and New York Classical Players.

A passionate and committed educator in both music theory and violin practice, Li-Mei has served as a Violin Lecturer at the University of California, Irvine, and is currently a full-time music theory faculty at the New England Conservatory. She also teaches violin at NEC’s Preparatory School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In Li-Mei’s spare time, she can be found in the kitchen or her hopefully-critter-proof veggie garden, working on “farm-to-table” cooking projects or talking nonsense to her plants.
