HENRY DAVID THOREAU BICENTENNIAL – SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2-4p

2017 marks the celebration of Thoreau’s 200th birthday; join us for an afternoon celebrating this milestone. As part of the Thoreau Bicentennial Statewide Read, Friends of Robbins Library will host an interactive event, Henry David Thoreau: Seeing the Big in the Small, highlighting Thoreau’s ability to find the remarkable in the everyday, and to observe specific details in nature and then link them to larger concerns we all face.  Thoreau explored the woods of Massachusetts; join us to consider the beauty of nature here in Arlington.  We will meet in the Town Hall Garden near the corner of the Robbins Library parking lot.  In case of rain, the event will take place in the Community Room.
Arlington resident Jennifer Ingram from the Walden Pond State Reservation will lead the event.  This program is free and open to the public.
