Join the Friends of the Robbins Library for a screening of the classic silent film, The Cameraman (1928) starring Starring Buster Keaton and Marceline Day. The screening will include a piano accompaniment by Richard Hughes. This free event will take place in the Robbins Library Community Room (lower level) on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 2:00 pm. About the film:
Buster Keaton is a laugh riot in this action-packed romantic comedy about an aspiring news cameraman determined to break into the business, and win the heart of a pretty girl. From one slapstick mishap to the next, Buster’s attempts to prove himself as a cameraman only seem to take him further away from the girl he loves. Even his mischievous monkey gets in on the trouble, removing the film from Buster’s camera just when he’s captured what could be the scoop of a lifetime. But with a little luck and plenty of determination, Buster hopes he can win the girl, the job, and his dream of becoming a cameraman.
