Join us for a special evening with Storyteller Sharon Kennedy presenting a program she’s calling “Heroes”. This coming April we mark the 50th anniversary of the death of Martin Luther King. Exactly 50 years ago storyteller Sharon Kennedy flew to the nation’s capital where she was granted interviews with MLK, the Mayor of D.C., and with Stokely Carmichael. Sharon was 18 years old and a freshman at NYU taking one journalism class. This was her project for that class. Imagine her surprise when she was granted these three interviews. When she was 15 she had crashed a Beatles press conference at Boston Garden and met all four Beatles. Now at 18 she was poised to meet MLK. But it wasn’t going to be quite that easy…
